<note>This research explores the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) method in the English learning classroom of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 8 Purwokerto. The study is motivated by the need to align English instruction with the student-centered principles of the Kurikulum Merdeka, which emphasizes critical thinking, collaboration, and contextual learning. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the researcher collected data through classroom observations, interviews, and documentation involving an English teacher and eighth-grade students. The findings reveal that the PjBL method was implemented through a series of structured steps including preparing questions, developing project plans, scheduling, monitoring, evaluating, and presenting the project outcomes. The teacher integrated PjBL with thematic school activities, such as the P5 project, enabling students to create posters and present them in English. This method significantly enhanced student engagement, creativity, and oral communication skills. Challenges identified during implementation included unequal group participation and initial student confusion, which were addressed through adaptive instructional strategies. Overall, the study concludes that PjBL provides a meaningful, engaging, and effective framework for improving English learning in junior high school settings.</note>
