<note>Digital transformation in the payment system is one of the strategic steps
in encouraging economic growth in the micro, small, and medium enterprises
(MSMEs) sector. The Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) is
present as an innovation to simplify digital transactions in various business lines,
including MSMEs. However, behind these benefits, there are potential risks that
can affect the sustainability and security of business actor transactions, especially
in the context of the sharia economy which emphasizes the principles of justice,
transparency, and protection of community interests. This study focuses on
MSMEs fostered by Bank Indonesia Purwokerto Representative Office to
evaluate in depth the risks of using QRIS in MSME digitalization and review its
suitability with Islamic economic principles.
This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data
collection was carried out through in-depth interviews with MSME actors, field
observations, and reviews of relevant literature. Data analysis was carried out
descriptively-qualitatively using the perspective of maqashid sharia as an
evaluative framework.
The results of the study indicate that there are several main risks in the use
of QRIS by MSMEs, namely technical risks (such as signal and system
interference), security risks (such as QR code forgery and late funds received),
digital literacy risks (related to user ignorance in reading reports and
understanding features), and consumer adaptation risks (minimal awareness and
use of QRIS by customers). In the magashid sharia review, these risks can affect
the protection of property (hifzh al-mal), reason (hifzh al-'aql), and public welfare
(maslahah 'ammah). Therefore, strengthening digital literacy, sharia economic
education, and improving technological infrastructure are needed so that the
implementation of QRIS can avoid elements of uncertainty (gharar), and is able to
realize fair, trustworthy, and inclusive transactions according to Islamic economic
principles.
