 <note>The purpose of this study was to test whether the cubing technique is effective on students writing of class VIII at MTs Riyadush Sholihin Purwareja Klampok. The quantitative method used is a quasi experimental design, which includes control and experimental group and a written test is used. Populations of the research uses 8th grade of MTs Riyadush Sholihin Purwareja Klampok. The samples of the research were taken using random sampling technique. The participants of this study were students of class VIII D as an control class consisting of 28 students and VIII F as an experimental class consisting of 27 students. Data were collected by giving a descriptive text writing test. Based on the results of data analysis, the experimental class pre-test results of average score were 48 then after receiving treatment the students score increased to 70.64 in the post test. The result showed that the significance of the t-test is 0.000 so that H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. Therefore, the hypothesis of this study was accepted. This decision demonstrated that there was differences in the results of students who were given learning media using cubing technique compared to those who were not. It is concluded that the use of cubing techniques significantly effective in students writing skill descriptive texts at MTs Riyadush Sholihin Purwareja Klampok.</note>
